Our Counselling Team is made up of professionally qualified Integrative Counsellors (combining person-centred, psychodynamic and existential approaches) and counsellors in training, who are all members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. We work under the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure we are working safely and in the best interests of the client. All our counsellors hold current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

I am experienced in working with couples, adults and young people across a wide range of areas including: relationship difficulties, challenging parent & adult child dynamics, abuse, trauma, eating disorders, bereavement, career issues and exploration of gender and sexual identity. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. 


I work as a Visiting Tutor, Group Supervisor and Internal Moderator for a well-respected training provider of professional and post-qualification counselling courses. 


I am a CPCAB qualified Clinical Supervisor, supporting individual practitioners, groups and tutor groups. 


My Certificate in Couples Counselling is accredited by the International Society of Professional Counsellors.

I work in a client-centred way where the client’s needs are at the forefront of our therapeutic journey. I will support you in a non-judging and safe place, for you to explore your feelings, struggles and concerns.

​

My counselling practice has focused on working with clients experiencing domestic and sexual abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, birth trauma and post-natal depression, loneliness and isolation, work and study stresses, family and relationship difficulties, disordered eating, identity struggles and low self-esteem. I have over ten years’ experience supporting young people (11+) including young people with disabilities, young offenders, children in care and young carers. Further to this I have experience supporting adults with disabilities and their families, specifically acquired brain injury and stroke. I have also supported children and young people with pre and post bereavement as a counsellor at a local hospice.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and have a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art, I often use creative therapies within counselling work. I also have specialist knowledge and training in mental health, LGBTQIA+, sexual health, stopping smoking, child bereavement, stroke care, safeguarding, domestic abuse and sexual assault and disordered eating.

I have completed training for counsellors and therapists from Gendered Intelligence (GI) to support trans, gender diverse and questioning people, I am a member of the GI Network for Therapists and Counsellors. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. 

​

I am also an accredited infant and neonatal loss practitioner through the Foundation For Infant Loss.

​

I am a CPCAB Level 6 qualified Clinical Supervisor, hold a level 4 safeguarding qualification and have completed 200 hours of advanced accredited training for online and telephone counselling and am a Level 2 Professional Member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).

I can provide 1:1 counselling, supervision, group work, wellbeing workshops and short courses, awareness training for local organisations and professionals.

Jackie Damuni MBACP

As a humanistic counsellor the emphasis of our sessions will be on developing the therapeutic relationship. I accept each client for who they are without judgement.  I provide a safe environment where you can take time to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential space.  I use your concerns as a starting point and then work collaboratively in a way which suits you.

I believe that with support and empathy each client has the resources within themselves to face the difficulties and challenges that life can throw at us.  I work closely with the client in a variety of ways to help them make changes towards self-development and personal growth.

My work with clients has focussed on issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-harm, disordered eating and relationship difficulties.

In addition to being a counsellor, I am an experienced primary school teacher and part of my training included counselling children and young people.  Therefore, I have a good understanding of issues that affect young people.

I am a fully qualified counsellor who works in an integrative way, incorporating aspects of Person-centred, Gestalt, Existentialism, CBT and Psychodynamic approaches.

I am a member of the BACP and work within their code of ethics. I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Human Studies, a PGCE and a Diploma in Counselling.

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor,  I have experience of working within various organisations.  I work with adults, adolescents and young people who present with a wide range of issues such as; depression, anxiety, childhood sexual abuse, stress, bullying, lack of confidence, reduced self-esteem, relationship issues, sexuality and more.

 

I have gained my experience within a school setting, a charity working with adults whose lives have been affected by childhood sexual abuse and CPLS Mind.

I work using an integrative approach which means I draw on a range of theoretical ideas and skills aiming to improve your emotional and mental wellbeing. I use a range of creative methods to help you to explore and gain an increased understanding of yourself.

 

I believe that we are all the expert of our own lives, as a counsellor I am not here to tell you what do or how to feel. I am here to walk with you on whatever journey you wish to take, to help you explore and find the clarity and healing you may be seeking.

I can provide you with professional, confidential support, being both empathic and non-judgemental enabling you to feel able to express yourself, explore personal issues in a safe, nurturing environment within a trusting therapeutic relationship.

With care, compassion, attentive listening and authenticity I can help you to engage in the healing process that talking therapy has to offer in abundance.

I can provide you with the opportunity to talk about how you feel and how this is affecting you. I understand that it is not always easy to talk about problems. I can work with you to help you make the changes you would like to happen in your life and work alongside you to improve your wellbeing.

Over the past twenty years my main focus has been in the field of emotionally supportive work helping individuals to develop in self-confidence and find their way through difficult personal issues. I work within an educational setting with young people as well as in private practice with both adults and young people.

The therapeutic relationship, and really being with my client whilst allowing them to explore and experience difficult emotions and feelings is my priority. Wherever our journey takes us, I believe your autonomy is key to you finding your way through your thoughts, whilst I offer a safe, supportive, empathic and non-judgemental space that is confidential where we can focus on what you feel you need to share.

I am a fully qualified counsellor, working with my clients in an integrative way which allows me to tailor the work to my client’s specific needs and get the most out of counselling. I am trained in person centred, experiential, psychodynamic, and existential approaches. I am also a Drawing and Talking therapist and can use this to allow clients the freedom of art to explore things that may be difficult to talk about directly.

I have experience of working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of agency settings and in schools. My work includes supporting clients with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, bereavement and loss, childhood sexual abuse, relationship stresses, self-identity, emotional abuse.

Counsellor 

Anne is a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor.  In addition to her counselling training she has completed 80 hours of ACTO accredited training for online and telephone counselling. Anne has experience supporting clients with a wide range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, health related conditions, bereavement and loss. Anne is also a qualified Nurse and has experience working in the higher education sector.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor which means I use a variety of skills, theories and ideas to help us on our journey together.

 

I actively encourage you , the client to become the map reader,  choosing which directions to explore. By providing a safe and supportive route, free from judgement, we can explore the concerns you carry, deciding what is needed, what can be sorted or what may be  left behind. 

 

I like to enhance our journey together by learning about your likes and interests and reflecting on them in practical ways,  a bit like taking a photo or painting a picture to reflect on  how far we have travelled or to see things differently. Each  journey is unique and confidential - I use BACP ethical framework to support my work. 

 

My own journey into counselling has allowed me to work with a variety of ages from teenagers to the elderly; dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, illness, bereavement and much more . As a teacher I have a lots  of experience with children and continue to develop my knowledge  to support their mental health needs. I am happy to work with clients face to face, online or by  telephone.

As a counsellor I seek to understand your personal experience of the feelings, thoughts and issues for which you are seeking support. I offer a warm and accepting space, in which I will listen to you with empathy and sensitivity.

 

I provide one-to-one counselling to adults and young people, both face to face and online. I adopt an integrative approach and draw from different therapeutic modalities to align with my clients and their unique process of exploration.

 

Placing you as the client at the centre of my work, our sessions can help you to gain new insights, perspectives and understanding. This can support you to identify and work towards the changes you desire.

 

My counselling work has focussed on issues such as: anxiety, overwhelm and low mood, low confidence and self-esteem, a sense of stuckness, confusion and/or loss of direction, relationship issues, grief, bereavement and loss, workplace issues, navigating difficult life changes, unresolved issues from the past.

 

Through previous professional roles I developed extensive experience in the field of autistic spectrum disorders, neurodiversity and sensory processing needs; I can use my experience and understanding to tailor my counselling sessions to the needs of a wide range of clients.

I provide a warm and supportive environment, where we can work together at the client’s own pace to address the challenges they are experiencing, believing that a trusting therapeutic relationship is a vital element of the process.

I have experience in working with both adults and young people on a one-to-one basis and with a range of presenting concerns and issues, including feelings of low self -esteem, anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, relationship/workplace difficulties and trauma.  

As a registered member of the BACP, I work in accordance with the professional standards set out in the Ethical framework.

I am a compassionate and reflective integrative counsellor.


I believe every client is unique, with their own particular history and experiences. My integrative training enables me to combine a range of different skills and tools best suited to you as an individual. I work with a combination of person-centred, psychodynamic, and existentialist theories and techniques. I sometimes use creative techniques to help clients explore their unconscious mind, and I bring in mindfulness and grounding skills to help clients manage their strong emotions.


I consider the therapeutic relationship to be at the heart of all healing through counselling and I will provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues and find the clarity and strength you are looking for.

I can offer a calm, comfortable and confidential space where I will listen sensitively, free from judgement or preconceptions which I hope will put you at ease.

Working at your own pace, we can address any challenges you are facing and work through these together. Our sessions are completely yours and I will empower you and assist you to explore your thoughts and feelings. 

I am currently in my last year of training and in 2024 will be fully qualified. I have a particular interest in prenatal and postnatal mental health, anxiety, depression and ADHD however also have experience in working with children and adolescents in an NHS setting which looks specifically at bereavement.
