Ali Oliver MBACP (Accred)

Partner, Counsellor and Supervisor

My client is at the heart of all our work together; I listen, understand, facilitate exploration of issues and support any changes that you may choose to make. I do not give advice, judge, provide solutions or direct you along a certain path. I believe the counselling room is your space, your time to use in the way that best helps you meet your needs.  A warm, compassionate place where you can say whatever you want to say, however you want to say it.

My work with adult clients has covered a wide range of issues, through both short and long-term work. Other experience I have is counselling young people (13+) within schools in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. I value each client as an individual and genuinely believe in the uniqueness of every situation.

I am a tutor for the Bedfordshire Centre for Therapeutic Studies, teaching counselling skills to those wishing to increase their capacity to support others. I also organise local professional development events for counsellors.

I am also an accredited infant and neonatal loss practitioner through the Foundation For Infant Loss.

I have many years’ experience of working at a senior level within the corporate world in the fields of training, marketing and management. Consequently, I appreciate the stresses and challenges that working life can bring.  Therefore, in addition to counselling, I also offer coaching services to help the achievement of personal or business goals.

Lucy Felton MBACP

Partner, Counsellor and Supervisor

I work in a client-centred way where the client’s needs are at the forefront of our therapeutic journey. I will support you in a non-judging and safe place, for you to explore your feelings, struggles and concerns.

My counselling practice has focused in working with clients experiencing domestic and sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, loneliness and isolation, work and study stresses, family and relationship difficulties, disordered eating, identity struggles and low self-esteem. I have over ten years’ experience supporting young people (13+) including young people with disabilities, young offenders, children in care and young carers. Further to this I have experience supporting adults with disabilities and their families, specifically acquired brain injury and stroke.

Alongside my counselling training, I have a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art and often use creative therapies within counselling work. I also have specialist knowledge and training in mental health, sexual health, stopping smoking, child bereavement, stroke care, safeguarding, domestic abuse, substance misuse, LGBT, forced marriage and honour based violence.

I am also an accredited infant and neonatal loss practitioner through the Foundation For Infant Loss.

I can provide 1:1 counselling, group work, wellbeing workshops and short courses, awareness training for local organisations and professionals.

Jackie Damuni MBACP

Counsellor

As a humanistic counsellor the emphasis of our sessions will be on developing the therapeutic relationship. I accept each client for who they are without judgement.  I provide a safe environment where you can take time to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential space.  I use your concerns as a starting point and then work collaboratively in a way which suits you.

I believe that with support and empathy each client has the resources within themselves to face the difficulties and challenges that life can throw at us.  I work closely with the client in a variety of ways to help them make changes towards self-development and personal growth.

My work with clients has focussed on issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-harm, disordered eating and relationship difficulties.

In addition to being a counsellor, I am an experienced primary school teacher and part of my training included counselling children and young people.  Therefore, I have a good understanding of issues that affect young people.

I am a fully qualified counsellor who works in an integrative way, incorporating aspects of Person-centred, Gestalt, Existentialism, CBT and Psychodynamic approaches.

I am a member of the BACP and work within their code of ethics. I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Human Studies, a PGCE and a Diploma in Counselling.
